So my wife and I are trying to lease a new Beetle for her. We went in thinking that we would have a few days to get a policy put together after the purchase. Not true unless you already have a policy somewhere. Well this was after the normal insurance salesman hours, so no luck. We wanted State Farm BTW.

So the next day, my wife gets in touch with the agent, and they get our information's. They supposedly get a policy put together, then the agent takes forever to email my wife the proof of insurance. Strike one. Well before she even gets it, the news comes back that we need a cosigner. Nbd. But we call and let the agent know in case it changes anything. So what does she do? She changes the whole fucking policy into our in-laws' names (one of which would be the cosigner) without my wife and I anywhere on it! And that's the one she finally manages to send!

So now, we have to try to get in touch with her first thing tomorrow to get it fixed. My wife and I have decided that if this goes into Monday, that we won't be getting the car, and were definitely not using that agent. This has turned into a nightmare.

Damn, the best thing you can do is ask for a different agent for sure. Also maybe try a different company, I've had some recent success with Geico.

I don't know if this will help, but my mom pays for my insurance and used to have State Farm. They were terrible to deal with (my insurance card expired in March and they did not send one until a month after we canceled our policy) we ended up switching to Liberty Mutual, and overall they seem great. She is saving $100 a month over State Farm with me being a 17 year old driver and 2 very new cars on the policy.

Liberty Mutual also gives discounts to different "car clubs". Like BMWCCA.

We ended up getting it worked out, but we still may switch down the road. Can I get your agents info for when we begin shopping around? And what area do they cover?

We are out on Gainesville, which is where her office is, but she could also direct you to a more local agent if there is one.

Thanks man, that's actually not too far away. We're just up in Centreville.
